How to send automatic payment reminders
You can set up automatic reminders for:
Sending automatic reminders for a new invoice
Follow these steps to send automatic reminders when creating a new invoice:
1 - In your Gusto Dashboard, select Finances from the left-hand sidebar.
2 - Select Invoices.
3 - Select + Create invoice at the top right in the Invoicing dashboard.
4 - On the Create invoice screen, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
5 - Check the Send automatic payment reminders checkbox.
That’s it. Your customer will automatically receive reminders at their email address. You can now continue creating an invoice as usual.
Sending automatic reminders for an existing invoice
Follow these steps to turn on the automatic payment reminders for the invoice that already exists in Melio:
1 - Select the Invoices tab from the Invoicing dashboard.
2 - Select the invoice you want to send automatic reminders for in the list.
3 - In the Invoice details window, select More at the bottom left.
4 - Select Edit in the pop-up menu.
5 - On the Edit invoice window, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
6 - Check the Send automatic payment reminders checkbox.
7 - Select Save and close or Save and share at the bottom right to confirm the change.
That’s it. Your customer will automatically receive reminders at their email address. You can turn off reminders for this invoice at any time by unchecking this box.
How to set up the invoice reminders
1 - Select the Settings icon on the right side of the Invoicing dashboard.
2 - Under the Invoicing section, select Invoice reminders.
3 - On the Invoice reminders screen, turn on the toggle next to the reminder frequency you want. You can choose more than one option.
Please note:
You can change the reminder's message by selecting Customize reminder and typing into the Email message field. Select Save to confirm your changes.
That’s it. If you choose to send the automatic reminders for invoices, we will send them to your customer according to your selected schedule.
